Julia Pinover joined Disability Rights Advocates in 2007 as the David Boies/ LD Access Fellow. Her practice focuses on class action and impact litigation that increases people with disabilities’ access to higher education. Ms. Pinover also works on physical access barrier cases that are aimed at enhancing the accessibility of outdoor recreation areas in California.
Ms. Pinover received her B.A. from Dartmouth College in 2002. During and after college, Ms. Pinover worked as a legal intern for the honorable Ruth Levine Sussman in the Bronx County Court and worked for several non-profits that provide direct legal services to victims of domestic violence. Ms. Pinover spent the summer of 2005 as a summer associate with Disability Rights Advocates and the summer of 2006 as a Helena Rubenstein fellow with Legal Momentum (formerly NOW’s Legal Defense Fund).
In 2007, Ms. Pinover graduated from Georgetown University Law Center with a J.D., Deans List Honors, a Deans Certificate Honor, and a CALI Excellence for the Future in Legal Scholarship award. She was also honored for her work in the Georgetown Domestic Violence Clinic. During law school, Ms. Pinover served as the Director of Development for the Equal Justice Foundation, which enjoyed a record setting increase in donations during the two years that she held a leadership position. Ms. Pinover is admitted to the State Bar of California and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
