Staff Profile: Stephanie Enyart

Stephanie Enyart joined DRA as a Skadden fellow in 2009. Her legal advocacy will address systemic treatment of homeless individuals with disabilities to ensure they have access to shelters in Los Angeles. Stephanie graduated from UCLA School of Law in 2009, where she was enrolled in the Epstein Program in Public Interest Law and Policy. At UCLA, she was an Editor-In-Chief of Recent Developments for the Women's Law Journal. During law school, Stephanie clerked for Protection and Advocacy Inc., the Disability Rights Legal Center, and at Disability Rights Advocates. As a law student, she was Co-Chair of the Steering Committee that launched the National Association of Law Students with Disabilities (NALSWD) and served as the first president of the organization. Stephanie is currently working on forming a national organization for lawyers with disabilities. She writes and speaks at local, state, and national conferences regarding disability rights and issues pertinent to pre-law and law students with disabilities. Stephanie was a Commissioner on the ABA Commission on Mental and Physical Disability Law and has also held an officer position on the Youth Advisory Committee to the National Council on Disability. She was recently awarded the Paul G. Hearne award given by the American Association of People with Disabilities to emerging disability rights leaders. In college, Stephanie was a Mellon fellow and graduated from Stanford University in 1999 with a B.A. in English and a secondary major in Feminist Studies.
